There was a proposal to nullify the 2022 season and start a new one.

Only former champions Kenya Pipeline, KCB and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are confirmed for the Mombasa leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league, Mozzart Sport has established.

The women's league was put on hold earlier in June to pave way for the national team preparations for the FIVB Women’s World Championships held in Netherlands and Poland last month.

Stakeholders met to discuss the way forward as the men's league concluded months ago and they are set to begin their new season next month.

However, if has emerged that a majority of the teams pushed for a nullification of the season that would see a new season begin next month alongside the men's. When there was no consensus, some teams withdrew.

Weeks later, the fixtures for the Mombasa leg were out and with action set to serve off on Friday 11 November at Makande Hall only the three teams have traveled from Nairobi to the coastal town.

With Prisons Kenya and their counterparts Prisons Nairobi as well as Kenya Army confirmed a no show, it has also emerged Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and Vihiga are not in Mombasa.

With that, KCB will play against Pipeline on Friday leaving DCI without an opponent for the day. On Saturday, the bankers play DCI if the fixture is to be followed as is.
